Godvik, where three fjords meet
Godvik lies at the far western edge of Bergen, in Laksevåg borough, with Alvøen to the south, Raunefjorden and Sotra to the west, Byfjorden to the north and Olsvik to the east. Drotningsvik, where the Sotra bridge reaches the mainland, is usually counted as part of Godvik.
The closest listing is a cabin cruiser moored on the shore between Godvik and Mathopen. From there the choice spreads out: a motor yacht at Straume and a cabin cruiser on Bildøyna, just across the water on Litlesotra, then Askøy boats at Hetlevik and Florvåg, at Søreide, in the city centre and in the southern districts of Fana and Hjellestad. Sailboats, cabin cruisers, RIBs and open boats are on offer, and some owners only rent with themselves as skipper.
The water off Godvik is a crossroads. Raunefjorden, the roughly 15 km fjord between Sotra and the Bergen peninsula, ends just north of the Sotra bridge, where it splits into Byfjorden towards the city and the southern end of Hjeltefjorden between Litlesotra and Askøy. Ships bound for Bergen from both the south and the north pass through here, so watch for them and cross their track quickly.
Head east along Byfjorden to reach the city centre, or north-west to the skerries of Øygarden. Our Bergen boat trip guide suggests routes in both directions.
