Renting a boat on Bildøyna: between Sotra and Litlesotra

Bildøyna is an island in Øygarden, west of Bergen, lying between Sotra and Litlesotra. Its southern tip, Søre Bildøy, is a residential area, while the northern half is mostly holiday homes, boathouses and open ground. Its highest point, Bildenuten, reaches 214 m.

The boat listed here is placed at Døsje, on the narrow sound of Bildøystraumen. It is a 29 ft cabin cruiser for up to six with a 300 hp engine, a galley with standing headroom, a bathing platform with a shower and an anchor winch. A stand-up paddle board is included, and the owner offers an extra dinghy.

For a day on the open side of Sotra, our Bergen boat trip guide puts the old trading post of Glesvær about 12 nautical miles from neighbouring Straume, with bare rock, skerries and open sea beyond. Marstein lighthouse stands about 4.5 nm further south, at the entrance to Korsfjorden.
