What is Ship O’Hoi?
Breistein on Sørfjorden, north of Bergen
Breistein is a village in Bergen's Åsane borough on the shore of Sørfjorden, about 15–20 minutes by car from the city centre, with the 334 m Breisteinsåta rising over it to the west. Its quay is a ferry landing: the car ferry to Valestrandsfossen on Osterøy leaves from here.
None of the listed boats is moored at Breistein. The nearest are a few kilometres to the west at Hordvik, where a cabin cruiser and a day boat lie side by side, and a sailing yacht near Salhus. The rest are at Frekhaug, in Alver and Indre Arna, in central Bergen, on Askøy and at Hetlevik, ranging from RIBs and open boats to sailboats and cabin cruisers.
North-west of the village, Sørfjorden meets Osterfjorden at Hordvikneset, and Salhusfjorden leads south-west towards Bergen. That way you pass the Nordhordland Bridge, 1,610 m long: most of it is a floating bridge, and boats go under the cable-stayed section that spans the shipping lane.
