Boating from Vettre and the Asker shore

Vettre sits on the Asker side of the inner Oslofjord. The Løkenes peninsula is tied to the mainland here by a small bridge, and Leangbukta holds a large boat harbour next to a centre where most of the boat dealers are gathered. The boats shown for Vettre belong to private owners and are moored along this western shore, at Slependen, Sandvika, Høvik and Slemmestad, with a handful on the Nesodden side of the fjord. Most are daycruisers, small open boats and RIBs, which suits the short hops this corner of the fjord is made for: - Langåra, reachable only by boat, with a pier, toilets and a nature reserve on part of the island. - Brønnøya, south-east of Nesøya, with no road link and two nature reserves, Viernbukta and Vendelholmene. - Bjerkøya, a cabin island of about 175 ha with a small reserve on its north-eastern point.

Watch your speed. Asker caps it at 5 knots when you are closer than 200 m to shore, an island, a skerry or a pier, and whole stretches are 5-knot zones: Leangbukta between Odden and Konglungøya, Langårasundet and Vendelsund.
