Nesbru and Holmenfjorden
Nesbru, in the north of Asker, takes its name from the bridge over the Neselva river. Its water is Holmenfjorden, a side arm of the inner Oslofjord that runs about 2 km north towards Holmen, up to 68 m deep, with the islands of Nesøya and Brønnøya on its eastern side.
Nesbru has no rental base of its own. The boats listed are small motorboats, day cruisers and RIBs from owners nearby, collected at Slependen, Nesøya, Sandvika, Asker, Høvik or in Oslo.
For a first outing, Hvalstrand is the local beach, with a pier and a diving tower. At Holmenskjæret the municipality keeps a day dock for boats up to 25 ft, a handy stop at the Holmen centre, though you can only stay one day.
Mind the speed limit on the way out: Asker sets 5 knots through the whole of Slependrenna, as far as Hestsund, Vestre Halsbukt and Breivika. If you are unsure whether you need a licence for a given boat, read our Norwegian boat licence guide.
