Nesøya is an island of about 3 km² in Asker, linked to the mainland at Slependen by a bridge over the Grønsund. The deep bay of Halsbukta almost cuts it in two. A few of the boats listed here are based on Nesøya itself; the rest come from along the inner fjord at Slependen, Sandvika, Asker, Høvik and Oslo, mostly outboard boats and RIBs with a few sailboats.
Much of the fun is within a few hundred metres of the island: - Hvamodden on the southern point, a sandy beach with paths. - Hestesund, with a beach, rocks and picnic tables. - Brønnøya, the car-free island to the south-east, and nearby Langåra, where Middagsbukta is one of the most visited boat stops in this part of the fjord.
