Solvorn on the Lustrafjord
Solvorn is a village on the west side of the Lustrafjord in Luster, directly across from Ornes and Urnes stave church, and a car ferry links the two. Listed here is a day boat with sun deck, fridge and gear for water-skiing, rented only with its owner at the helm; the owner reckons you can see the whole Lustrafjord in a day. The others are in Sogndal and Kaupanger.
The Lustrafjord runs about 40 km from Ombandsnes, where it leaves the Sognefjord, to Skjolden at its head, turning north-east at Ornes; Feigefossen falls into it from the east side. Solvorn's shore is lined with boathouses and sea-houses under a conservation plan, and the landscape around Ornes, Solvorn and Nes is of national cultural interest.
