Renting a boat in Sirevåg: the southern end of Jæren

Sirevåg is a coastal village in Hå, at the southern end of Jæren in Rogaland, about 8 km south of Brusand. It is a working fishing harbour with fish landing on the quay. The first public quay was only built in 1916; before that there were just steep rock faces.

A day cruiser with a 120 hp diesel engine is listed here, for up to five on day trips, with sleeping space for two. It has a chartplotter and echo sounder.

Sirevåg marks the southern end of the Jærstrendene protected landscape, 70 km of coast from Tungenes in the north, with bird sanctuaries and plant reserves along the shore, so check where landing is allowed. Just north, Ogna has long white sand beaches, and Brusand a 7 km sandy beach. Lighthouses such as Kvassheim were built along this coast to guide ships safely past it.
