Ræge: a farming village inland from Sola's beaches
Ræge, also spelled Rege, is a farming village in Sola just south of Stavanger airport, known for Rægehaugene, the richest Bronze Age grave find in Norway. It has no harbour, and nothing is moored here. The closest boats are in Tananger on Sola's west coast, and others wait in Stavanger and Sandnes and on the islands of Hundvåg and Vassøy; a Sola listing is meant for inland lakes only.
West of the village the coast is open beach rather than harbour, part of the Jærstrendene protected landscape facing the North Sea. Sheltered water begins on the Stavanger side, and our routes from Stavanger head for Lysefjorden and the Ryfylke islands.
