Hundvåg, Stavanger's island borough
Hundvåg is a flat, built-up island of 4.7 km² just north of Stavanger's centre, across the Byfjord. A chain of bridges over Buøy, Engøy, Sølyst and Grasholmen ties it to the city, ending at the Stavanger City Bridge, and the Hundvåg Tunnel runs under the sea to the island's northern part.
A few owners on the island rent out boats: a cabin cruiser, a small open boat and a sailing yacht that only goes out with its skipper. The rest of this page is made up of boats moored around Stavanger and Sandnes, in Tananger, on Vassøy and on Rennesøy.
Being on the island puts the Byfjord on your doorstep. Heading south past Hundvåg and on through the Byfjord into Høgsfjorden is the start of the Lysefjorden route in our five Stavanger boat routes. Rennesøy, now part of Stavanger, lies to the north.
