What is Ship O’Hoi?
Sætre, on the Hurum side of the fjord
Sætre sits on the Hurum peninsula in Asker, about 45 km south of Oslo, on the shore of the inner Oslofjord. It was Hurum's administrative centre until the merger with Asker in 2020, and it has its own boat harbour, Sætre båthavn. An owner here rents out a cabin cruiser. Most other boats on this page are across the water in Drøbak, further up the fjord in Asker and Slemmestad, at Fagerstrand on Nesodden, or in Svelvik.
Across the sound is Drøbak, with the Oscarsborg fortress on its Kaholmen islets in the middle of Drøbaksundet. For a swim, our Oslofjord swimming spots by boat include Sandspollen, another bay on the Hurum peninsula.
If you pick up a boat in Svelvik, you will come out through the narrow Svelvikstrømmen. The main fairway there has an 8-knot limit for leisure boats.
