Fagerstrand at the southern tip of Nesodden
Fagerstrand is the southernmost village on the Nesodden peninsula, where it borders Frogn, about 17 km south of Nesoddtangen. The shore has plenty of places to swim, with diving boards and a floating jetty, and the disused tank depot on the shore is easy to spot from the water.
You can pick up a day cruiser in Fagerstrand itself. Other owners are a few kilometres north at Spro Havn, or across the municipal border in Drøbak, with boats at Heitmann Marina and in Vindfangerbukta. More are across the water at Sætre, Slemmestad and Asker. Expect day cruisers, cabin cruisers, open boats and RIBs, with some sailboats.
Just south lies Håøya, 5.2 km²; no island in the inner fjord is bigger. Its summit, Varden, at 229 m, is the highest point in the fjord. Oslo municipality owns most of it, every plant and animal on it is protected, and the eastern part of the nature reserve on its southern section is closed to visitors because sea eagles nest there. Drøbak and Oscarsborg Fortress are a short hop further on. Håøya is one of our Oslofjord swimming stops.
Keep speed down close to land: along Nesodden, leisure boats may do at most 5 knots within 200 m of the shore, islands and visible skerries in the fairways.
