Boating from Slemmestad
Slemmestad sits where the Bøbekken stream runs into the inner Oslofjord, about 30 km from Oslo on the Asker side. From the water the landmark is easy to spot: four 70 m silos, left from the cement works that ran here from 1888 to 1989.
The boats shown here are privately owned open boats, cabin boats and RIBs from along the inner fjord. Some are moored in Slemmestad itself, and the rest are picked up nearby, at Nesøya, Asker, Høvik and Oslo, or at Drøbak across the fjord.
Close to Slemmestad, Tåjestranda is a sandy beach on the coastal path with no parking, which makes arriving by boat a good option. Bjerkøya, an island of about 175 ha, is mostly holiday homes.
