Bjørnemyr, Alværn and the Steilene islands
Bjørnemyr is a neighbourhood on the west side of the Nesodden peninsula. It has grown together with Alværn, and both now form part of Nesoddtangen, the municipality's main settlement. No boat is listed in Bjørnemyr itself: the ones on this page lie further south on Nesodden, at Spro and Fagerstrand, or across the Vestfjorden in Oslo and Bærum, so check the pick-up point in each listing.
The reason to come here by boat lies just offshore. West of Alværn are the five Steilene islands, all secured by the state as public outdoor areas: - Persteilene, with the guest harbour, a sandy beach and showers - Storsteilene, with a natural harbour, its own landing jetties and toilets - Fyrsteilene, where the old lighthouse keeper's house is now a coastal-trail cabin for rent - Knerten, a bird reserve
Landing on Knerten is forbidden from 15 April to 15 July. Overnight visitors are safest on the guest berths at Persteilene, run by the local sailing club. For other places to go ashore, see public docks and landing points in the Oslofjord.
