Drøbak sits on Drøbaksundet, the narrows that guard the approach to Oslo. In the middle of the sound, Oscarsborg Fortress on the two Kaholmen islets sank the German cruiser Blücher in April 1940. It is now a museum and hotel, with a guest harbour of about 110 berths on the west side of Nordre Kaholmen.
