Renting a boat in Gräddö on Rådmansö

Gräddö is a village on the Rådmansö peninsula in Roslagen, about 10 km east of Norrtälje, first mentioned in 1547. Swedish troops embarked here in 1739, and in 1809 an expeditionary force sailed from Gräddö to Ratan in Västerbotten. In the late 1800s it became a summer resort, and in 1959 the first Viking Line ferries to Mariehamn on Åland left from here before moving to Kapellskär the following year.

A 20 ft open console boat for up to six, with a 150 hp outboard, a plotter and an echo sounder, is listed in Gräddö.

About 3 km away lies Lidö, an island that, together with large areas of water around it, has been a nature reserve since 2000 and has a guest harbour. Kapellskär, on the same peninsula, handles ferry traffic to Finland and Estonia, so expect large ships on its approaches.
