Bullandö, where two archipelago fairways meet
Bullandö is a peninsula on the south-east corner of the Värmdö mainland, between Älgöfjärden to the north and Breviken to the south. Most of its southern part is taken up by Bullandö Marina, one of the largest small-boat harbours in the Stockholm archipelago, with room for about 1,400 boats. A well-equipped family cruiser is kept here, and its owner suggests it for a week or more in the archipelago. The other boats are at Ingarö, where an open snipa comes with its owner, at Gustavsberg, where a classic sailboat is listed, and a bowrider at Skarpö near Vaxholm.
Further east, between Stavsnäs and Sandön, lies Runmarö, about 5 km long, known for its lime-rich bedrock and wild orchids. Our guide to Sandhamn and Värmdö continues from here to Sandhamn.
Two fairways meet off Bullandö: Vindöström–Simpströmmen–Nämdöfjärden, and Strömma kanal–Kanholmsfjärden. Expect plenty of traffic on summer weekends.
