Renting a boat in Rolvsøy: a trailer boat by Visterflo

Rolvsøy lies along the Glomma north of Fredrikstad city centre and became part of Fredrikstad in 1994. It is Viking-ship country: three ships have been linked to Rolvsøy, and the one that survives, the Tune ship, was found in 1867 at the Haugen farm here.

A 20 ft open boat for up to six is kept on a trailer at Rostadneset. The owner can launch it for you in Visterflo, a lake in the Glomma system about 600 m away, or you can tow it somewhere else. Water skis and cushions come with it, but life jackets only for three, so bring more for a larger group.

If you launch in Fredrikstad instead, leisure boats must keep to 5 knots in part of the Vesterelva. From the city, the Glomma leads down to the islands in our trips out to Hvaler.
