Ringsaker: Brumunddal and the Furnesfjorden
Ringsaker stretches along Mjøsa's eastern shore from the Furnesfjorden north past Brumunddal and Moelv. Kept here are a classic snekke berthed in Brumunddal and fitted for overnight trips, and a trolling boat rigged with live sonar and downriggers, whose owner can come along as skipper or fishing guide. The rest are in Hamar, and a boat is in Gjøvik on the western shore.
Brumunddal, 15 km north of Hamar, has a boat harbour and a pier for the paddle steamer Skibladner in Mjøsparken, next to a beach. The Furnesfjorden between Brumunddal and Nes is the lake's warm corner: its surface water reaches 13–16 °C in summer, and up to 20 °C at the head of the fjord. The Lake Mjøsa guide has routes north and south from here.
Heading north, check your mast height. The Mjøsbrua between Moelv and Biri, 1,420 m long, has 15 m of clearance.
