Sailing from Rabac harbour

The yachts listed for Rabac are compact sailing boats, chartered by the week from the harbour front on Obala Maršala Tita. Rabac, a former fishing village just south-east of the hill town of Labin, lies on the east coast of Istria and faces the Kvarner.

The harbour has 450 m of quay in a natural bay. The county port authority's own description is candid: the bay is sheltered from the northerly bura and tramontana, only partly sheltered from easterly winds and completely open to southerly ones (jugo and maestral). Look at the forecast before the first and last night, and in summer (1 June to 30 September) the port has an on-duty service.

The same authority runs the small ports along this coast at Plomin Luka, Sveta Marina, Tunarica and Trget, and Girandella is one of Rabac's own beaches. Rabac is also one stop on our Istria sailing week.
