Renting a boat at Marina Admiral, Opatija

The boats on this page are at Marina Admiral, in the centre of Opatija on the waterfront promenade. Most are motor boats, with a sailing yacht among them, and some can be chartered for a few days rather than a full week. Opatija lies on the Kvarner Gulf, 18 km north-west of Rijeka, below the Učka massif, which rises to 1,401 m at Vojak.

From the marina you can follow the rocky coast south past Ičići to Lovran, the same shore the 12 km Lungomare walk follows on land, or head out into the Kvarner towards the islands of Cres and Krk. For a longer island route, see our Kvarner sailing guide.

A rule to know for the coast: under Croatia's maritime safety regulation, boats must keep to 8 knots within 300 m of the shore, in narrow channels and on the approaches to ports. Motor boats may only plane further out than 300 m.
