The boats here take up to 8 people.
Do I need a boat licence in Croatia?
Yes. In Croatia you need a recognised boat licence, such as an ICC valid for coastal waters, to drive any rented motorboat or skipper a bareboat yacht, and bareboat charter also needs a VHF radio certificate (SRC). With a skipper or a crewed yacht you need no licence. Read our full licence guide.

Renting a boat in Kraljevica: sailing from the mouth of Bakar Bay
Kraljevica, known in Italian as Porto Re, lies about 20 km south of Rijeka, where Bakar Bay opens into the Rijeka Gulf. The mainland end of the Krk Bridge is just to the south-east. A sailing yacht is based in the town's port and is chartered bareboat by the week.
The public port has a working quay and berths for local and visiting boats, including pontoons set aside for leisure craft. Ashore stand two medieval castles of the Zrinski and Frankopan families and a shipyard described as the oldest on the Adriatic.
Keep a lookout as you leave. Bakar Bay is 4.6 km long and up to 40 m deep, it joins the gulf through a passage only about 300 m wide, and bulk carriers still sail in and out of it. For a week among Krk, Cres, Lošinj and Rab, see our Kvarner sailing guide.
