Lundegrend and the Lukksundet
Lundegrend, known locally as Lunde, is a village of about 400 people on the north-east of Tysnesøya. It stretches from Humlevik in the west to the Lukksund bridge in the east, taking in Lunde, Gripne and Malkenes. No boats are listed in the village. The nearest are a small open boat elsewhere on Tysnesøya and, around the Bjørnafjord, a small aluminium boat at Eikelandsosen, a hardtop boat with its owner as skipper, an open boat at Baldersheim and a motor launch in Os.
The Lukksundet is the sound between Bjørnafjorden and Hardangerfjorden, crossed since 1986 by the Lukksund bridge, 316 m long with a main span of 175 m. It carries the road from the island to the mainland.
Each side of the sound is a nature reserve: Børevika to the west, protected in 2000, and the much larger Stussvikhovda to the east, protected in 2020. Leave the shore there as you find it.
