Renting a boat at Furøy on Reisafjorden

Furøy is a small community on the north shore of Reisafjorden in Sørreisa, Midt-Troms, around the bay of Djupvågen, with Gottersjorda next door and the Forøya peninsula nearby.

A diesel day cruiser for up to five is listed here, with rods for sea fishing, light fishing and children, a chart tablet, an echo sounder and a diesel heater. It is handed over with a full tank, and the owner charges for the diesel used afterwards at the boat association's pump price. Handover training can only be done between Thursday afternoon and Sunday evening, and a licence and boating experience are required.

The chart shows several named shoals within a couple of kilometres, among them Øyjordgrunnen, Bondhoggrunnen and Revet, so keep an eye on the echo sounder. The fjord opens west onto Solbergfjorden, the sound between Senja and the mainland; our Senja and Harstad guide covers the outer coast.
