Evenes lies on the north side of the Ofotfjord, between the towns of Harstad and Narvik, and borders Tjeldsund to the north and west. Harstad/Narvik Airport lies in the municipality, and the E10 runs through it. The old trading post of Liland is also in Evenes, and in the west several wetlands are protected together as the Evenes wetland system.
