Tolvsrød, east of Tønsberg
Tolvsrød is a suburb in Søndre Slagen, about 5 km east of central Tønsberg, near the Ringshaugstranda beach. A large RIB, offered with a skipper, is based here. A catamaran listed under Tolvsrød is actually lying in Sandnessjøen in northern Norway, so check its listing. The other boats are spread around the Tønsberg area: in Tønsberg and Stokke, on Nøtterøy and Tjøme and elsewhere in Færder, and across the fjord in Horten, Larkollen and Manstad.
The nearest landmark is Vallø, the peninsula at the eastern approach to Tønsberg, which had a salt works from 1739 and Scandinavia's first oil refinery from 1899.
