Stabbestad, the peninsula across from Kragerø
Stabbestad lies on a peninsula outside Kragerø, about ten minutes by ferry from the ferry berth in the town centre, in an archipelago of some 495 islands, skerries and islets. A few owners keep boats here: a small open boat, a cabin cruiser with a galley and a shower, and a small wheelhouse workboat. The rest of the boats on this page are in Kragerø, Sannidal, Søndeled and Risør.
Visiting boats can moor next to the ferry berth or at a larger dock near the beach club. Vestre Stabbestad, about a kilometre from the ferry quay, has a big lawn, a sandy beach and a swimming jetty with steps and a diving board. The coastal path's first stage also starts at the ferry quay and runs 12 km to Rapen.
Kirkeholmsundet, just north-west of Stabbestad, is a 5-knot zone all year, and Kragerø's inner harbour is too. Our Kragerø archipelago guide takes you on from here to Portør and Jomfruland.
