Šolta: sailing from the ferry port of Rogač
Every yacht on this page starts from Rogač, a small port village on Šolta's north coast and the island's main port. The harbour has the island's port office and a filling station for boats, and the car ferries from Split land here, so keep the ferry berth clear. The fleet is made up of sailing yachts and catamarans, chartered for at least a week.
Šolta lies south of Split across the Split Channel, west of Brač and east of the two Drvenik islands. Next door on the north coast is Nečujam, a chain of bays 1.8 km long, just under 9 nautical miles from Split. Its smallest cove, Piškera, was used as a fish pond by the Emperor Diocletian, and the remains of its walls lie on the seabed. At the western tip, Maslinica is a fishing harbour exposed only to north-westerly winds, which makes it a good shelter for smaller boats.
For a week that goes on to Vis and the Blue Cave, see our Šolta, Vis and Blue Cave route.
