All boats on this page start from Marina Frapa, in Soline bay at Rogoznica, halfway between Šibenik and Split. It has 462 berths on ten piers and a buoy anchorage behind the last one, and it has operated since 1998. Its reception, transit pier and hotel stand on a man-made island in the bay. Call on VHF 11 or 17. Split airport is about 30 km away. The fleet splits between catamarans, some very large, and sailing yachts.
The bay itself is described by the local tourist board as one of the safest harbours on the Adriatic. Between Soline and Koprišće bays, on the Gradina peninsula, lies Zmajevo oko (the Dragon's Eye), a lake 15 m deep ringed by cliffs and fed by the sea through the porous rock.
The marina's own distance table shows the range: Kornati National Park 22 nautical miles, Brač 25, Vis 28 and Hvar 32. Closer in are Primošten and the car-free island of Kaprije.
Take care rounding Rt Planka, the cape about 2 km south-east of Rogoznica. It marks the boundary between the northern and southern Adriatic, where jugo and bura meet, and the local tourist board calls it one of the most dangerous points on the eastern Adriatic coast.
