What does it cost to rent a boat in Mykonos?
Charter yachts cost from €2,450 per week, typically €8,450 per week (44 yachts with a price). Prices vary by date and season, and each boat shows the exact price for your dates.
Can I rent a boat with a skipper in Mykonos?
Yes. 28 of the 44 boats on this page can be rented with a skipper or captain, so nobody in your group has to drive.
How many people can come along on a rental boat in Mykonos?
The largest boat here takes up to 15 people, and a typical boat takes 10.
Do I need a boat licence in Greece?
Not for a small motorboat: in Greece an outboard of up to 30 hp is licence-free on a conventional hull, but only up to 15 hp on a RIB or V-hull. To charter a yacht bareboat the skipper needs a recognised licence, and the ICC is the safest choice; with a hired skipper nobody on board needs one. Read our full licence guide.

Mykonos: skippered charters and harbour rules
On Mykonos the boats are spread around the island. The largest group is at Tourlos, the new port about 3.5 km north of Chora, and many others lie in Ornos bay on the south coast. A few use the old port in Chora or start from Platis Gialos. Catamarans and motor yachts dominate, many offered only with a skipper, plus fast day boats for trips around the island.
The port fund has rules that affect any yacht coming in: - Berths are applied for online in advance. - Yachts arrive only between noon and sunset, and no vessel may enter or leave between 09:30 and 10:30 because of ferry traffic. - The old port is reserved for motor yachts over 25 m. Sailing yachts are not permitted there at all.
The classic trip is short. Delos, the ancient sanctuary island, lies only about 2 km off, and next to it is uninhabited Rhenia, once the burial ground of Delos. Along the south coast, beaches such as Psarou and Platis Gialos are easy stops for a swim.
The official tourism site calls Mykonos the island of the winds, and in July and August there are many days of strong meltemi from the north. Plan the exposed legs for mornings. Our Cyclades week from Lavrion includes a stop on Mykonos and its harbour options.
