Charter bases on Murter
Yachts listed for Murter are based in two marinas on the island. Most sail from Marina Hramina in Murter town, set in the naturally sheltered Hramina bay, with more than 400 sea berths and 120 on land. A smaller group is at Marina Betina in the neighbouring village of Betina, a shipyard and marina founded in 1948 on a tradition of wooden boatbuilding going back to 1740. The fleet is almost entirely monohull sailing yachts for weekly charter.
From Murter the Kornati are close: Hramina sits at the entrance to Kornati National Park, and the park's headquarters are in Murter. Nearer at hand, the small island of Vrgada lies north-west of Murter, and Žut, the second-largest island of the Kornati archipelago, is outside the park boundary. Before planning a short cut to the mainland side: Murter is joined to it by a lifting bridge at Tisno. From 1 June to 15 September it opens daily only from 09:00 to 09:20 and 18:00 to 18:20, and the water under it is about 2.4 m deep, so compare that with your yacht's draught first.
