Renting a boat near Kvisvik: Freifjorden between Tingvoll and Frei

Kvisvik is a village on Straumsnes, in the north-west of Tingvoll municipality on Nordmøre. Straumsnes was its own municipality from 1866 until it rejoined Tingvoll in 1964, and Tingvoll's sea borders run through Freifjorden to the west and Årsundfjorden to the north.

Freifjorden stretches 14 km south-west along the east and south side of the island of Frei. Its entrance lies between Årsundøya in the east and Gyltneset on Frei in the west, and at the far end the 5 km Freifjord tunnel carries the Krifast road link towards Kristiansund under the fjord. Along the Frei shore lie Ørnvik, Kvalvåg and Ora.

No boats are listed in Kvisvik itself. The nearest listing is across the fjord at Rensvik on the north side of Frei, close to Kristiansund: a 17 ft open console boat for up to five with a 60 hp engine. Its owner asks for boating experience and a boat licence.
