Renting a boat in Molde: from Tøndergård onto the fjord

A bowrider listed for Molde lies at Tøndergård small-boat harbour, east of the town centre at Bolsønes, where there is also a fuel pump. Visiting boats moor at Reknes guest harbour in the centre, and the Sjøfronten quay by the square can be used by arrangement with the harbour watch.

The town faces Moldefjorden, part of the Romsdalsfjord. About ten minutes by boat south of the centre is Hjertøya, the largest of the Molde islets, owned by the municipality and home to the fisheries museum of Romsdalsmuseet. Further out lie Veøya, a small island that was Norway's first protected landscape and had a trading town in the Middle Ages, and Sekken, the steepest and highest island in the fjord.

The port authority lists an 8-knot speed limit for all boats in Moldefjorden, and water-skiing and jet skis are not allowed inside the guest harbour area.
