Klokkarvik, the ferry village on Sotra
Klokkarvik is a village of about 750 people on Sotra's eastern shore, part of Sund municipality until 2020 and now of Øygarden, with Sund church at its centre. No boats are listed in the village itself. The closest wait across Raunefjorden in Bergen: a sailing yacht at Hjellestad, open boats and day cruisers in Fana and at Nordvik, a weekend boat at Lysekloster on Lysefjorden, and more around Nordåsvannet and in the city.
The car ferry to Hjellestad crosses via Lerøy and Bjelkarøy, so watch for it in the sound. North of those islands begins Raunefjorden, which runs about 15 km between Sotra and Bergen, past the Skogsvågen inlet and Flesland airport, up to Byfjorden. South of Klokkarvik lies Korsfjorden. Our Bergen boat trips include the run through Lerøyosen to Glesvær on Sotra's open south-west coast.
