Renting a crewed catamaran at Marina Funtana
Funtana is a small municipality on the west coast of Istria, 6 km south of Poreč and next to Vrsar. A Roman villa stood at nearby Zelena Laguna, with an aqueduct of its own that gave the village its name.
A crewed power catamaran for up to twelve guests is based at Marina Funtana, with snorkelling gear and a stand-up paddle board on board, and it can be booked from a single day.
The marina, built in 2003, is open all year, has about 200 berths with depths of 1.5 to 4 m and listens on VHF channel 17. Fuel is at Vrsar, about 1.5 nm to the south. The marina advises approaching from the west, as there are many shoals, rocks and reefs along this coast. Beyond Vrsar opens the Lim bay, a marine reserve with restricted navigation; our Istria itinerary explains how best to see it.
