Renting a boat near Dyrvik on Frøya

Dyrvik is a small village on the north-east side of Frøya, the island west of the entrance to Trondheimsfjorden, where fishing, fish farming and the fish industry provide the work. The old outport of Dyrvika lies close to the village.

The boat on this page is kept at Ervika, a bay about 1 km south of Dyrvik and, according to its owner, 2 km from Sistranda, the municipal centre. It is a 24 ft day cruiser for up to seven with a 160 hp engine, a diesel heater and an echo sounder, and two can sleep aboard. The owner suggests island hopping among the islands off Frøya.

Further out, about 30 km off the Fosen peninsula, lies Froan, several hundred islands, holms and skerries stretching about 40 km. Much of it is a nature reserve where going ashore is banned from 1 April to 10 August, except in the protected landscape on and around Gjæslingen, Sørburøya, Sauøya and Halten.
