Les Marines de Cogolin on the Gulf of Saint-Tropez
Cogolin's short stretch of coast, at the head of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, is home to Les Marines de Cogolin. All the listed boats sail from there, about 3 km from Saint-Tropez. Sheltered by the Maures hills, the marina takes 1,400 boats from 6 to 50 m, with an entrance channel about 80 m wide and 4.5 m deep.
This is catamaran country. Most of the fleet are sailing and power catamarans, joined by a few monohulls and a trimaran. Most go out for a week, but some also run skippered day charters from the marina.
Saint-Tropez harbour is only about 3 nautical miles across the gulf, and Port Grimaud is next door. Further out, you can round Cap Saint-Tropez and head south to Cap Camarat and the long bay of Pampelonne. For a week east along the coast to Cannes, see our Saint-Tropez to Cannes itinerary.
Arriving late is not a problem. The capitainerie at the harbour entrance is staffed day and night all year, and after office hours the night watch answers on VHF channel 9. In July and August the technical team is on the pontoons from 07:00 to 21:00.
