Cannes: from the Vieux-Port to the Lérins islands
The boats listed here are based in the Vieux-Port de Cannes, below the old Suquet quarter. Expect large boats, such as a 67 ft sailing catamaran for twelve guests with a five-day minimum, or a 46 ft motor yacht.
The Lérins islands lie just offshore. Île Sainte-Marguerite, about 15 minutes away by boat, holds the fort where the Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned. Saint-Honorat still has a working monastery.
Rules at the islands: - From 1 May to 30 September, the town runs the Sainte-Anne buoy field on the north side of Sainte-Marguerite. Anchoring is banned in the 43-hectare zone around it and south of Saint-Honorat. - Cannes asks boats at the islands to anchor on sand, not on seagrass. - Jet skis are banned in the marked 300 m strip, including between the two main islands.
Our Saint-Tropez to Cannes itinerary runs west along the Estérel.
