Renting a boat in Imperia: crewed weeks on the Riviera dei Fiori
Imperia was created in 1923 by joining two older towns, Porto Maurizio and Oneglia, which lie on either side of the Impero stream. The town's marina, Marina di Imperia, grew out of those two communities and has 1,245 berths, 151 of them kept for boats in transit. It sits on the Riviera dei Fiori, between Sanremo and Albenga.
The boat listed here gives the port of Imperia as its base. It is a large crewed catamaran, chartered by the week from Saturday to Saturday, and the skipper sails it for you.
The sea off Imperia lies inside the Pelagos Sanctuary, a marine protected area of about 84,000 km² between Toulon, Sardinia and Tuscany, created to protect whales and dolphins. It is believed to be the main feeding ground for fin whales in the Mediterranean. For other Italian bases, see our overview of Italy's sailing areas.
