Portofino's natural harbour lies inside the Portofino marine protected area. It has about 300 berths, 18 of them for boats in transit, and takes yachts up to 40 m. Enter through the central channel marked by the park at no more than 3 knots, giving way to boats leaving. Boats over 16 m must call the maritime authority first, smaller ones the mooring service. Watch for two shallows inside the harbour.
