Sailing yachts from Talamone port
The boats listed here are large sailing yachts based at Talamone port, chartered by the week. Talamone is a small village in the municipality of Orbetello, on a rocky promontory about 25 km from Grosseto. Its tourist harbour faces the gulf of the same name on the Tyrrhenian Sea. The village marks the southern edge of the Maremma Natural Park and the Monti dell'Uccellina, and the coast north of the port is protected parkland.
From the harbour the view reaches Monte Argentario and out towards the island of Giglio. The port has a long history as a landing place: Nelson's fleet anchored here in 1798, and Garibaldi's expedition called in 1860. For a week through Giglio, Elba and the other islands, see our Tuscan Archipelago itinerary.
