Renting a boat in San Vito Lo Capo: a crewed gulet

San Vito Lo Capo sits on a bay below Monte Monaco, near the tip of the peninsula of the same name in north-west Sicily, with a white sand town beach and the Zingaro Nature Reserve to the south.

A traditional gulet is based here and sails with a crew of captain, hostess and sailor. On day trips it takes up to twelve guests, and on longer charters nine sleep aboard. Masks, fins and a SUP board are on board.

The harbour has floating pontoons and good shelter from south-westerly and north-westerly winds, but it is exposed to the scirocco from the south-east. Levanzo in the Egadi Islands is about 22 nm away. Along the Zingaro coast, motor navigation is always banned within 100 m of the shore. An Egadi sailing week ties the islands to this coast.
