Ploče: a charter base opposite Pelješac
All the yachts on this page are based at Ploče City Port. They are bareboat sailing yachts from 10 to 17 m plus a flybridge catamaran, chartered by the week. Ploče sits on the Dalmatian coast just north of the Neretva Delta.
Across the water lies Pelješac, Croatia's second-largest peninsula, 65 km from Ston to Cape Lovišta, with its highest peak Sveti Ilija at 961 m. At its western tip the Pelješac channel separates it from Korčula, where Korčula town is one of the stops on our Split to Dubrovnik itinerary. Behind the town, the Neretva Delta is a Ramsar-listed wetland with bird reserves near the river mouth.
Ploče is also a working port: it is the main seaport for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the end of the Sarajevo railway, so expect cargo ships in the approaches. The Jadrolinija car ferry to Trpanj on Pelješac takes about an hour, so watch for it too as you leave harbour.
