Renting a boat in Paralio Astros: questions and answers
Can I rent a boat with a skipper in Paralio Astros?
Yes. All 2 boats on this page can be rented with a skipper or captain, so nobody in your group has to drive.
How many people can come along on a rental boat in Paralio Astros?
The largest boat here takes up to 10 people, and a typical boat takes 9.
Do I need a boat licence in Greece?
Not for a small motorboat: in Greece an outboard of up to 30 hp is licence-free on a conventional hull, but only up to 15 hp on a RIB or V-hull. To charter a yacht bareboat the skipper needs a recognised licence, and the ICC is the safest choice; with a hired skipper nobody on board needs one. Read our full licence guide.

Skippered sailing from Paralio Astros
Paralio Astros is the harbour village of inland Astros, 4 km away, on the Arcadian shore of the Argolic Gulf. Its harbour, renovated in 2015, is formed by a peninsula known as "the Island", crowned by a medieval Frankish fortress. The listed boats are based at Astros harbour and sail with a skipper, for day trips as well as longer cruises.
The gulf is about 50 km long and 30 km wide, with Nafplio at its north-western end and Spetses at its entrance. Day trips suggested in the listings run to Tyros, Tolo, Nafplio and Xiropigado. Two days reach Spetses and Hydra, and a week adds Aegina, Poros, Ermioni, Agistri and Leonidio. Our Saronic sailing guide describes the islands at the eastern end of that week.
