Fjällbacka and the way out to Väderöarna

Fjällbacka is an old fishing village in Tanum, crouched below the 74 m Vetteberget. The Kungsklyftan ravine through the rock is named after King Oscar II's visit in 1886. Close by is a fast open boat whose owner says it lies at Långesjö, Fjällbacka. A small boat is listed at Normansberget further south, and a two-cabin cruiser under Kungshamn.

Offshore lies the Fjällbacka archipelago, and at its western edge Väderöarna, 365 islands and skerries about half an hour away by boat. There is a guest harbour on Storö.

Rules at Väderöarna: - 5 knots around Storö and the nearest islands from 15 May to 31 August. - From 1 March to 31 August, no landing in the bird and seal protection areas, and stay 100 m away from them. - No anchoring in Sollidbukten, where the seabed is sensitive.
