Port d'Andratx and the strait to Sa Dragonera
All of these boats start from Port d'Andratx, the natural harbour at the south-western corner of Mallorca. It is a catamaran fleet, several of them large, and some are offered as crewed boats. Besides the public quays managed by Ports IB, the harbour is home to the Club de Vela del Puerto de Andratx, a marina of about 500 berths, and the old fish market building still stands on the waterfront.
Small coves such as Cala Llamp, Cala Moragues and Cala d'Egos lie close to the harbour. Round the headland to the north-west is Sa Dragonera, an uninhabited island about 3.2 km long whose highest hill reaches 360 m, protected as a natural park since 1995. It faces Sant Elm, and its one small natural harbour is at Cala Lledó. Our Mallorca sailing week from Palma stops in Andratx before rounding Dragonera towards Sóller.
The park's own rules are short and strict. At Cala Lledó you may set people ashore but not moor, visits are only allowed during opening hours, and landing on the islet of Es Pantaleu is forbidden. Groups of more than ten need permission from the park in advance.
