Catamarans in the Port de Sète

Sète is built on and around Mont Saint-Clair, between the Mediterranean and the Étang de Thau, with canals linking the two. The catamarans listed here are based in the Port de Sète and chartered bareboat, some for as few as five days.

The marina spreads through the town centre, with more than 470 berths for boats up to 18 m on the Môle Saint-Louis, 345 more on the waterways beyond the drawbridges, and small-boat places in the enclosed canals. The harbour master's office floats on the Môle Saint-Louis and answers on VHF channel 9.

Out at sea lies the Gulf of Lion. Inland, the Étang de Thau is about 21 km long with a mean depth of 4.5 m, and has harbours at Bouzigues, Mèze and Marseillan. Our guide to sailing areas in France covers the Languedoc coast and the tramontane, a cold west to north-west wind.
