The boats listed on Gotland are not typical rental boats but pilot boats (lotsbåtar) of about 37 ft, which their owner describes as equipped for all weathers and used for pilotage, towing, diving, fishing expeditions and even breaking ice. The listings do not name a harbour on the island, so agree the boarding point with the owner.
Gotland is Sweden's largest island, about 100 km out in the Baltic from the Swedish mainland, and fast ferries link Visby with Nynäshamn and Oskarshamn in about three hours.
