Three bases around the port of València

Boats listed for Valencia leave from three places. Most are at the Real Club Náutico de Valencia, a club founded in 1903 that moved out of the port in 1982 to its own harbour at Pinedo, south of the city, now with more than 1,200 berths. A catamaran is at La Marina de València, the historic inner basin between Las Arenas beach and the commercial port, which hosted the America's Cup in 2007 and 2010 and has about 820 berths. Another is at Port Saplaya, a marina community built in the 1970s in Alboraia, just north of the city. The fleet is mostly catamarans, with some sailing yachts, rented by the week.

For a week heading south, our Costa Blanca guide from Dénia and Valencia plans the run down to Dénia and beyond.

Between the club at Pinedo and La Marina lies the Port of València itself, which serves around 7,500 ships a year, from container ships to cruise ships and the regular ferries to the Balearic Islands. Keep well clear of its entrance.
