Porto Pollo: catamarans in the maestrale bay
The catamarans on this page, 42 to 46 feet long, are based at the Porto di Porto Pollo. Porto Pollo (Porto Puddu in Sardinian) belongs to Palau and lies about 7 km from it. They are rented by the week, bareboat or with crew.
The bay is split from the neighbouring Porto Liscia by the Isola dei Gabbiani, a small peninsula joined to the shore by a sandy isthmus, with dunes up to 23 m high behind the beaches. The north-westerly maestrale blows here reliably from midday to early evening, making Porto Pollo a windsurfing and kitesurfing centre: expect boards and kites near the beach.
The La Maddalena Archipelago National Park is about 15 minutes away by boat, with Spargi, Budelli, Santa Maria and Caprera. To sail, moor, anchor or stop within 300 m of the park's coast you need a park ticket, 5% cheaper online. Our La Maddalena and Costa Smeralda sailing week plans a week in the park.
